The Dimitar Talev Regional Library is the largest library in the Blagoevgrad region. It is located in the city center, in the building of the former Party House. The library holds nearly 500,000 items, including books, newspapers, magazines, CDs, and more.
The ground floor houses the Children’s Department, and to the right of the main entrance is the Registration Center, where you can purchase a library card for borrowing privileges.
On the first floor is the Central Adult Lending Department, spread across four halls. You can borrow up to 5 library items for a period of 30 days, which can be extended once by returning the items to the library for renewal.
The third floor contains the reading rooms for Social and Philological Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Periodicals (current newspapers, magazines, and bulletins), and Arts. The floor also includes the Reference and Bibliography Department and a Copying Center (Reprographic Department).
On the fourth floor, you will find the Local History Department, along with several reading spaces for visitors.

The Panitza Library at the American University in Bulgaria was established in the mid-1990s and holds over 135,000 books, more than 630,000 e-books, 130 current periodicals (newspapers and magazines), and 85,000 electronic periodicals.
The collection cannot be borrowed for home use, but the library provides ample reading spaces across several floors.
If you are not a student of the American University, but a resident of Blagoevgrad Municipality, you are welcome to use the library. Simply leave your contact information at the information desk located to the right after the entrance.
